energy has a key role in optimizing quality of power in industry by providing innovative solutions for the active harmonic filter . this case study deals with the effectiveness of the harmonic filter in qazvin ‘s useful glass factory by focusing on the 250 kW induction furnace which faces high harmonics .
qazvin plain glass factory
qazvin plain glass factory is one of the active industrial units in qazvin province that specializes in the production of industrial and industrial glass . the plant is located in the industrial zone near qazvin with more than 8 industrial estates . the project location in the production unit is induction furnaces which is faced with the use of a diesel generator and the need for a harmonic filter for energy stability .

inductive furnaces produce thermal electromagnetic fields and are used to melt materials such as glass . in the useful glass of qazvin , an induction furnace of 250 kw with power transducers , هارمونیکهایی to THDi % , generates 53 % , which requires the use of a harmonic filter for power quality management .

analysis of economic results and benefits
the installation of the active harmonic filter increased THDi to 1.6 % and THDu to 1.5 % and improved power coefficient to 0.99 . the annual savings of 120 million riyals in energy losses and 200 million riyals in the costs , along with the liberalization of 25 % of the generator capacity ( 500 million riyals ) , has created significant added value .
